Don't miss Friday 6th October deadline for written submissions

Don't miss Friday 6th October deadline for written submissions on 'Civil
Unions Bill'

Friday 6th October is the last day for written submissions on the evil Civil
Unions Bill. Now even if you have never made a submission to parliament
before, please consider doing so this week. Yes it will be a bit of work to
read the Bill and write an email submission, but you will be helping to
defend the Sanctity of Marriage in South Africa. Think about your extended
family and friends. Do you know people whose lives have been hurt as a
result of one or more partners not treating marriage as sacred? If you are
a pastor, do you spend a lot of time trying to help such people? If this
Bill gets passed, respect for marriage will gradually decline as young
people get an idea that marriage is just for convenience and adult pleasure
rather than a sacred institution ordained by God for the benefit of the
whole family. Then and more and more people are going to get hurt with
these type of problems. You can help stop more people getting hurt by
writing an email against this evil Bill.

Download the Bill in pdf from:

The Bill proposes:
1. Legalising Civil Unions giving identical rights to same-sex couples as to
married couples. The law allows the use of the word 'marriage' in the
ceremony and refers to 'marriage' and 'civil union' interchangably. This
makes it different to Civil Unions overseas which usually give much lesser
rights. The sacred institution of marriage is thus insulted by being used
to refer to sodomist and lesbian unions and these wicked unions elevated by
being granted similar legal protection.
2. Legalising Registered Domestic Partnerships for same and opposite sex
couples essentially as a stripped down alternative to marriage. Essentially
it is the granting of state benefits of couples who live together in sin but
who register with the state. Likely many more people will chose this as an
alternative to getting married as where similar laws have been tried
elsewhere in the world. Also, more people are likely to have children out
of wedlock. This arrangement used to be called 'Concubinage'.
3. Legalising Unregistered Domestic Partnerships grants benefits for couples
who live together in sin outside marriage but who don't even bother to
register with the state. Again, this is likely to encourage more people to
live in sin.

* The Bill is misleadingly named because it is doing a whole lot more than
what is normally understood by 'Civil Unions' overseas including granting
same-sex couples the right to use the term 'marriage' and granting rights to
'living in sin' opposite sex couples. Please object to both types of
relationship recognised by the Bill.
* The Bill appears to futher undermine marriage by referring to 'customary
marriages' as if they had a similar status to 'domestic partnerships'/living
in sin.
* Please write in your submission and objection to poor organisation,
advertising and venue changes for the provincial public hearings and ask
them to be done again properly.
* Please do not in your submission endorse or grant legitimacy to any form
of homosexual rights. If you wish to make some sort of political compromise
proposal, please state clearly that this is not something you support
morally, but only as a lesser evil.
* Please ask your pastor if your church is making a submission and if not,
offer to write one for your church.
* Please write your views in your own words and do not copy and paste text
from my emails or anyone else's submission.
* In your submission, if you wish to do so, request permission to make an
oral submission to parliament on 16 or 17 th of October 06.
* Afterwards, send your submission (or a summary of it) also as a letter to
your local newspaper.

Written submissions and petitions must be addressed to: The Chairperson,
Home Affairs Portfolio Committee, National Assembly, referring to the Civil
Union Bill B 26 - 2006 (Fax 021 403 2808 (Mr Mankge -
mmankge@parliament.gov.za) or fax 021 403 2854 (Ms Martin -
dmartin@parliament.gov.za)). The cut-off date is THIS FRIDAY, 6 October 2006
(anytime).

Please also send me a copy of your submission.
